Royal Veterinary College Y11 Summer School

Event: Royal Veterinary College Y11 Summer School

30th & 31st August 2022 with online launch W/C 22nd August

The free RVC Y11 Summer school gives you a real taster of what life is like as a student at the RVC studying either Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, or Biological Sciences. As well as taking part in lectures, practical demonstrations and Q&A with world-leading researchers, you get hands-on experiences in the anatomy museum, labs and with the animals! Participants get the chance to meet current RVC students, other young people with a passion for animals and professionals working in a range of animal science careers. You’ll work together to solve veterinary case studies, reflect on your career goals and how to achieve them and enjoy student social activities*!

This is a fantastic opportunity to not only learn more about university life, studying for your chosen course, and next steps, but by attending, you can also use this as valuable experience to write about in your personal statement and UCAS application!

To participate you must attend a state school and meet a number of other Widening Participation eligibility criteria such as being the first in the family to go to university, being eligible for Free School Meals, or living in an area with low progression rates to higher education.

Applications for the RVC 2022 Year 11 Summer School applications open on the 11th of January.

*The Summer schools are planned to be onsite and in-person, however this may be subject to changes depending on the Covid guidelines.
