Event: International Women in Engineering Day

Sheffield Hallam University and the National College for High Speed Rail would like to invite your female Y12 students to their International Women in Engineering Day on Thursday 20th June – 9:30-15:00.

Based in the amazing facilities of the National College for High Speed Rail in Doncaster, the day will consist of:

  • Keynote Speaker- Head of Planning at DB Cargo, Kate Turner- who at 24 years old is excelling in her career path. How did she get there? Why did she choose this career? Has she faced any barriers?
  • Panel Q&As with current students
  • A hands on tour by the NCHSR staff- explore the state of the art workshops and facilities that help their students to become industry ready, including AR and VR
  • In the afternoon face a team working sustainability engineering dilemma. Can your students use their engineering skills to work together and create, build and present a moving windmill out of recycling?
