Event: University of Sheffield – Maths Discovery Day
Thursday 2nd May, 10:00am - 3:00pm
Come and explore subjects across the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths
giving your students a chance to experience subjects designed to stimulate intellectual curiosity, collaborative working and creative problem solving.
Polyhedra are three-dimensional shapes made out of polygons. You will discuss how they work, build a few, and discover a surprising fact when we start looking at what we’ve done. At the end you will learn why this is useful for modern scanning techniques. You will also explore careers related to STEM degree subjects and how valuable these skills can be in the world we live in.
