National Virtual Vet Taster Event

Event: National Virtual Vet Taster Event

Wednesday 15 June, 16:30-18:30

Are you interested in becoming a vet but are not sure what the next steps are? Come and explore some of the UK’s vet schools at this year’s National Virtual Vet Taster event on Wednesday, 15 June 16:30-18:30.

We recognise that not all student applying to vet school have equal opportunities when it comes to accessing all the information and opportunities needed to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. This event will help break down these barriers and provide you with all the information you need.

You’ll have the opportunity to hear from staff and students from seven of the UK’s vet schools all in one place! We’ll also be hearing from the British Veterinary Ethnicity & Diversity Society (BVEDS) on where a veterinary degree can take you, and from IVC Evidensia, a leading veterinary employer.

Following our talks, you will have the unique opportunity to hear from and chat to current Vet Student Ambassadors from the participating universities. If you’re curious about what university life is really like for current students, this is your chance to ask them all about topics such as student life, courses, societies, work experience and why they chose to be a vet.

The vet schools that will be present at the event are: Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Nottingham, the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) and Surrey.

The event is FREE to attend and is aimed at Year 12/S5 students from UK state schools and mature learners (aged over 21). You must meet one or more Widening Participation eligibility criteria to sign up.

Applications close at 5pm on Monday 6 June.

If you have any questions about the event or the registration please email Francesca Coates (vetug@ed.ac.uk) from the University of Edinburgh, one of the event organisers.
