Event: RVC Sutton Trust Summer School (Year 12)
Monday 26th July - Tuesday 3rd August
To participate in this activity you must attend a non-selective state school and meet a number of other Widening Participation eligibility criteria such as being the first in the family to go to university, being eligible for Free School Meals, or living in an area with low progression rates to higher education. For more information, please visit the Sutton Trust website.
The RVC Sutton Trust Summer School gives a real experience of university life studying Veterinary Medicine, Biosciences and Veterinary Nursing. This programme is usually a five-day residential held at their Hawkshead campus, however was run online in 2020 due to the pandemic and is likely to look slightly different again in 2021. As well as taking part in online lectures, practical demonstrations and Q&A with our world-leading researchers, they aim for every student to come to campus for hands-on experiences in our animal hospitals, Clinical Skills Centre, labs or farm. You’ll get the chance to meet current RVC students, other young people with a passion for animals and professionals working in a range of animal science careers. You’ll receive personal support to reach your goals and navigate the university application process. Work together to create group projects, solve veterinary case studies, and enjoy student social activities!
The cost of transport, food and activities will be covered by the RVC and the Sutton Trust.
