This is a session for (Students, Parents/Carers, SENDCos, Teachers and Advisers)

This session will cover:
• what Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) is
• the forms you need to complete and how
• support provided by higher educational institutions
• Q & A with current students

16:00 Welcome and Introduction
Kelly Self, Project Co-ordinator, Higher Education Progression Partnership (Hepp) will introduce the session and talk about the HeppHub.

16:10 What is Disabled Support Allowance (DSA)
Jackie Reaney, HE Disability Adviser, Barnsley College HE will provide information on what DSA is, how you apply, what evidence is required, the study needs assessment and how to action the approved support.

16:25 The Disabled Support Allowance (DSA) Form
Justine Cooper, Wellbeing Inclusive Support Co-ordinator, Sheffield Hallam University will go through the different types of DSA and highlight how to complete the key sections of the form and the study needs assessment.

16:35 Disabled Support at Higher Education Institutions
Alison Jones, Disability Transitions Officer at the University of Sheffield will talk about lots of other support that is available at higher education institutions.

16:40 Q & A session with the disabled learners
This is an opportunity to ask any questions to our current disabled student ambassadors who have different disabilities, impairments and conditions that have affected their studies. It is an opportunity to ask them any questions about their experience of DSA and any other questions you have.
