Celebrating the GOALS Project – Growing Our Achievement, Learning and Skills

10th July 2025

We’re excited to share the amazing work happening through GOALS – a joint pilot project between HEPP and South Yorkshire Children’s University.

The GOALS Breakfast Club supports students in Years 7 to 9 by helping them build key life skills like confidence, teamwork, independent learning and problem-solving – all while enjoying a free breakfast!

The programme focuses on students who may benefit most from extra support with attendance, punctuality and self-belief, and gives them the chance to plan and pitch for funding to launch a brand-new club or activity in their school. It’s a fully pupil-led journey, building real-world skills like budgeting, consultation, sustainability and leadership – all aligned with the Skills Builder framework.

This week, we were thrilled to celebrate some of our amazing GOALS students from Outwood Academy City and Thrybergh Academy at the Sheffield and Rotherham CU Graduation Ceremonies. It was brilliant to hear about their clubs, their achievements, and how much they’ve grown through the project.

A huge thank you to Pascha Lindley and Anmol Ahmed, HeppSY Engagement Coordinators, for designing and delivering such inspiring sessions and helping students to grow, thrive and believe in their potential.
